Christina Ruedy – Veteran Outreach Chair

BOARD MEMBER BIOGRAPHY

Christina Ruedy is a dedicated non-profit coordinator at Families Helping Families through Kwik Trip Inc., where she plays a vital role in fostering internal community engagement and support. A proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin La Crosse, she earned her degree in Interpersonal Communication, complemented by a minor in Leadership Development. Christina’s academic background equips her with the skills necessary to effectively communicate and lead initiatives that empower families and individuals in need.

She has called Wisconsin home for several years but has cultivated a profound connection with various communities throughout the United States. This sense of belonging is a legacy she cherishes, largely attributing it to her father, a retired military service member, whose dedication to service has inspired her lifelong commitment to helping others. Her father’s values instilled in her the importance of community, resilience, and the impact of service, shaping her approach to her work and her interactions with those around her. In September 2024, Christina celebrated a momentous personal milestone: the birth of her first child, Owen, with her loving husband, Jacob.

Christina’s passion for service and community engagement drives her in both her professional role and personal life, as she seeks to build a nurturing environment for her growing family while continuing her mission to support others. Beyond her work in non-profit coordination, Christina is enthusiastic about the mission of the Healing Paws Network. With a longstanding affection for dogs, she recognizes their unique ability to provide comfort and companionship. This connection to therapy animals resonates with her personal life; her father utilizes an emotional support animal in his role as the Monroe County Veterans Service Officer, further solidifying Christina’s belief in the transformative power of animals. She looks forward to fostering connections and promoting the benefits of animal therapy.
